  • 1 lb ground beef preferably 80/20
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) French onion soup
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 8 oz egg noodles
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella or provolone cheese or a mix of both
  • to taste salt, pepper, garlic powder, and dried thyme

Instructions
 

  • Heat a large skillet over medium heat and brown the ground beef until fully cooked, breaking it up as it cooks. Drain any excess fat.
  • Add the French onion soup and beef broth to the skillet. Stir to combine and let the mixture simmer for a few minutes to deepen the flavor.
  • Cook the egg noodles in a separate pot of salted boiling water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  • Combine the cooked noodles with the beef and soup mixture in the skillet. Stir gently so that the noodles absorb the flavors.
  • Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the sour cream and shredded cheese until the sauce is creamy and well blended. Adjust seasoning if needed.
